The Grand Canyon

Here we are in Williams Arizona just south of the Grand Canyon. The campgrounds and their facilities where closed in October so we have to stay outside the park. The other night it was 22 degrees up in the park so I think it is better to stay at a lower altitude, it was 32 degrees here this morning. Sunday we went into the town of Williams and walked around town. Williams is on old Route 66 and has really cool stores and restaurant's. We ate lunch at an old 50's malt shop that was allot of fun, man this place was old and full of antiques. We did some window shopping and talked about returning this week when more stores will be open.
Yesterday we went to the Grand Canyon and spent eight hours touring the park. We hiked the Rim Trail for about four miles and took allot of pictures. Their are parts of the canyon that where formed all most 4,000 million years ago. They have a great shuttle service that takes you all over the park and they run every fifteen minuets. We were pretty tired when we got home and went to bed about eight o'clock.
This is where we had lunch.

Lynn with the King.

Having fun on Route 66.

The Big Hole

The Grand Canyon is Awsome.

This prehistoric Dragon Fly is as big as your hand.
We are headed for the Painted dessert and the Petrified Forest tomorrow. Daily temperatures have been in the 70's here but they say a cold front is coming in this weekend. I guess it's time to head south again down into New Mexico. Stay tuned.
